My Code-Test-Debug SDLC
Coding is taking me much longer than I originally expected… It’s already at around 400+ LOC but perhaps only 80% there … The Code-Test-Debug cycle (around like 20%-10%-70% in terms of time taken - hey, I’m not the cream of the programming crop here, ya know?) is kinda fun though its not exactly the prescribed Software Development Life Cycle you get from academic theory. 80% time planning and 20% time coding my foot…
On the flip side, at least its not all that bad as I’m learning new stuff along the way … At least PHP has a rather decent documentation…
Hopefully the new feature will be able to be rolled out soon*
(*: Definition of soon may vary ^^” )
When it rains, it pours!
Man, the weather has been really foul and wet lately :S
Actually, it’s not so much about the inconvenience that it causes rather than it is how it makes one so sleepy and gets in the way of productive work
Well, so I suppose that it is an inconvenient sleepiness then…
Maybe some quick updates on what ChupR has been up to… No, we’re not dead but its just that we are in the process of finalizing some deals we have with our partners, so do expect to hear some exciting stuff really soon !
Meanwhile, back to napping mood and (hopefully!) sporadic bursts of productive work…
Thoughts from the IT Show
Actually, haven’t really been to it as there isn’t anything I need to buy right now. (Actually, more like nothing I want which I can afford to get right now
)
But still, its interesting to see how many people actually still regligiously turn up for this event and how many leave with a trolley laden with their spoils of war behind them. Such has lead so many people to remark - “Recession? What recession ?”.
Much like Pavlov’s pets, we maybe we have been trained to wait for such computer shows before buying stuff. In any case, maybe its a good thing to have more people spending now to stimulate the economy. Perhaps, what a couple more of such IT shows would do better to yank us out of the recession? Heh…
Aye, its a great time to be in the printing or trolley business ![]()
A Busy Weekend
IT Show this weekend… Explains for the traffic drop across the board in Singapore. Actually a great time to be running maintenance on the site I suppose.
Also happens to be Supreme Court open house so that may be worth a visit. Some pretty nifty Chinese History exhibition is also on at the ACM so its gonna be hard to plan the stuff I wanna do this weekend.
And then there’s all the stuff on table which I really should be getting down to but just haven’t done so quite yet … Bummer really …
Oh yes, its also PI DAY ! So all you math geeks out there, eat your heart (or at least a pie) out ![]()
Weekend Again!
Wow, the week just flew past and it’s the weekend again …
Was planning on getting some coding done during the week but seems its gonna have to wait … Watch out for something new soon ![]()
A Day in the Life of ChupR
Well, in terms of the web stats anyway…. Here’s what 24 hours for ChupR looks like — a roller coaster track:

Quite interesting to see when most users will start coming in. The day seems to start at around 9am then climbs to peak at 12, before the evident lunch break till 1pm. After lunch, back to surfing and another little peak at 4pm which probably coincides with peak of boredom at work, then 5~6pm means going out time. A little valley around 7~8pm when its probably something like stuck in traffic, dinner, TV then the late night peak from 9pm~12mn.
And if it seems like nothing happens at 3am, its not quite right. That’s when we carry out updates if necessary in case we break anything ![]()
MJ auctioning off his arcade machines!
Seems like even the King of Pop has fallen on hard times and is auctioning off quite a number of his worldy possessions … Most interesting are the stuff slated for Day 3 - Amusements, Arcade Games & Entertainment, which include a wide array of arcade games and machines. He seems better stocked than a lot of local arcades … Heh
